ALDER FLYCATCHER | SPECIES INDEX | HOME |
| | Conservation Concern: NONE Population Trend: Poorly Known The Alder Flycatcher is believed to be a very rare breeder in northern Illinois. Its detectablity is complicated by the fact that this species is extremely difficult to distinguish from the much more common Willow Flycatcher. Migrant Alder Flycatchers can also often be seen well into the month of June. This species has only been reported 31 times since 1988 and 4 times since 1997 (only once during Point Count monitoring). |
