Conservation Concern: 8

Population Trend: Decreasing
Credibility: Poor

The American Redstart is an uncommon to fairly common yearly breeder in the CW Region.  Their preferred habitat includes open forests with moderate understory and moderate to dense shrublands and forest edges.  This species is much less visible during the breeding season, and its song may be frequently confused with other more common warbler species.  Data from BCN eBird seems to indicate that this species is declining, however accurate trends cannot be produced due to the small sample size.
