Conservation Concern: NONE

Population Trend: Poorly Known
Credibility: Poor

The Belted Kingfisher is an Uncommon breeder in the CW Region and slightly more common to the south.  Kingfishers typically nest in cavities along riverbanks.  Analysis of BCN eBird data seems to indicate that this species is increasing.  The sample size is very small and accurate conclusions cannot be drawn, but BBS data for Illinois also shows a similar trend.
