KILLDEER | SPECIES INDEX | HOME |
|
| Conservation Concern: NONE Population Trend: Substantial Decrease The Killdeer is a common statewide breeder. Preferred habitat includes open, dry fields, banks of lakes and marshes, and gravel roadsides. This species appears to be notably declining in preserved areas sampled by the BCN Census, but marshlands and roadsides are not adequately sampled and this species may be increasing in those areas. |
