NORTHERN HARRIER | SPECIES INDEX | HOME |
| | Conservation Concern: 3 State Endangered Population Trend: Poorly Known The Northern Harrier is a very rare breeder in the CW Region. Breeding habitat includes large areas of moist grassland and/or marshes. This species has decreased substantially during the past century due to habitat loss. Breeding birds have been encountered at quite a few locations in the CW Regions over the years, but most of the populations in locations with less than 500-100 acres of grassland have not been sustainable. |
