Population Trend: Substantial Decrease

The Ring-necked Pheasant is an uncommon breeder in the CW Region, fairly common further to the south.  Breeding habitat includes grasslands and agricultural areas.  This non-native species was introduced into the United States in the late 1800's.  They have declined substantially in the CW Region during the past twenty years.
