The Swamp Sparrow is an uncommon breeder in the CW Region.  Breeding habitat includes marshland edges with tall vegetation and other grassy areas near water.  Trends show that this species is fairly stable in the Chicago area.  This species is not adequately monitored by the BCN Census and its rather plain song may be frequently ignored by monitors.
