VEERY | SPECIES INDEX | HOME |
| | Conservation Concern: NONE Population Trend: Substantial Decrease The Veery is an uncommon to rare breeder in the CW Region. Breeding habitat includes woodlands with dense understory, often near water. This species is rarely encountered on the BCN Census and is difficult to detect, but short-term trends still show a clear decrease. The Veery has been shown to be one of the (desirable) species most negatively impacted by current restoration practices in the CW Region - especially buckthorn and honeysuckle removal. |
