| | Conservation Concern: 7PIF Population Trend: Decreasing The Yellow-breasted Chat is an uncommon breeder in the CW Region, common to the south. Breeding habitat includes open to moderate dense shrublands, hedgerows, and forest edges, with dense clumps of mixed shrubs. Long-term trends estimate an annual decrease of 6%. Short-term trends have a wide range of error, but estimate an annual decrease of about 12%. This species is very sensitive to the removal of shrubs (native or non-native) and hedgerows in grasslands and shrublands where they may breed. |
