AMERICAN ROBIN

The American Robin is an abundant statewide breeder in open woodlands, forest edges, shrublands, urban areas or almost anywhere with shrubs or trees. Updated BCN trends better account for this species’ use of various habitats and indicate that this species is stable in our area. Populations in residential areas are poorly sampled by the BCN Survey and may have different trends.  A high proportion of our state’s robins were found to have West Nile Virus antibodies, indicating that they have survived the disease.
