BLACK-CAPPED CHICKADEE

The Black-capped Chickadee is a common breeder in the CW Region. They are cavity nesters that are frequently found in many woodland habitats, both coniferous and deciduous. Trends indicates that this species is likely declining slightly in our area. Considerable declines were noted in some areas as a result of West Nile Virus around 2003. Photo: © Eric Secker
