LARK SPARROW

The Lark Sparrow is a very rare breeder in the CW Region, increasing in abundance to the south and west. Breeding habitat includes open, sandy, dry fields with some shrubs or trees. This species is rarely encountered more than once every other year in the CW Region. Established populations are present in Kankakee County and south. Accurate trends cannot be calculated.
