SUMMER TANAGER

The Summer Tanager is a very rare breeder in the CW Region, fairly common in southern portions of the state. Breeding habitat includes riparian forests and open woodlands with some understory. This species was only recorded twice in the past nine years on BCN Survey point counts. This species does appear to be spreading north slightly in recent years however. Photo: © Eric Secker
