Northern Parula

The Northern Parula is a very rare breeder in the Chicago Wilderness Region, fairly common farther south. Breeding habitat includes bottomland forests, wooded ravines, and sometimes riparian woods usually near rivers or streams. This species is very rarely encountered on the BCN Survey and some records may represent late migrants. Photo: © Jerry Kumery
