Tree Swallow

The Tree Swallow is a common breeder in the Chicago Wilderness Region, less common to the south. Breeding habitat includes cavities in trees (often near water) or in man-made structures such as bluebird boxes. Trends indicate that this species is increasing significantly in our area.
