Wild Turkey

The Wild Turkey is a very rare breeder in the CW Region, uncommon to the west and south. Once all but extirpated from the state, reintroduction efforts successfully reestablished this species. Sustained populations in the CW Region may result from escapees and introductions by hunters. This species is rarely encountered on the BCN Survey. Photo: © Jerry Kumery
