Bell's Vireo

The Bell's Vireo is a rare breeder in the Chicago Wilderness Region. Nests are often located in large thickets or hedgerows in open shrublands or grasslands. Unfortunately, BCN eBird data for this species is very sparse, due partially to the fact that the CW Region is on the northern fringe of this species' range. Declines from other data sources have been severe enough to place this species fairly high on a number of conservation lists. Photo: © Eric Secker
