Northern Mockingbird

The Northern Mockingbird is a rare breeder in the Chicago Wilderness Region and common in regions farther south; however, established populations are present in the southern counties of the new, expanded Chicago Wilderness region. Breeding habitat is varied, but includes grasslands with scattered trees and open shrublands. Data was insufficient to estimate trends for this species. Photo: Ryan Hagerty /USFWS
