Brown Thrasher

The Brown Thrasher is a common statewide breeder. Preferred habitats include shrublands and dense forest edges. BCN trends indicate that this species is stable in the Chicago Wilderness Region while other Midwest populations have been showing more notable declines. This species has a high relative density in the tallgrass prairie region and therefore is a species of special responsibility in the CW Region. Photo: © Robert Hambley
