Chipping Sparrow

The Chipping Sparrow is a common statewide breeder. Breeding habitat usually includes open shrublands, savannahs, or forest edges with moderate to dense evergreens. The BCN Survey does not adequately monitor residential areas where this species can be quite common, but trends in preserved areas appear to be stable. Photo: © Steve Byland
