House Sparrow

The House Sparrow is an abundant statewide breeder. Preferred habitat is usually urban areas or open fields adjacent to dense understory. This introduced species nests in natural cavities and many man-made structures. This species is poorly sampled by the BCN Survey which does not adequately monitor urban areas. Photo: © Eric Secker
