Swamp Sparrow

The Swamp Sparrow is an uncommon breeder in the Chicago Wilderness Region. Breeding habitat includes marshland edges with tall vegetation and other grassy areas near water. BCN Survey trends in 2013 indicated a moderate decline, but trends in 2020 are showing a more recent significant increase. Photo: © Eric Secker
