OVENBIRD

The Ovenbird is an uncommon breeder in the CW Region. Preferred habitat includes large woodlands with dense understory. Sample size is not large, and accurate trends cannot be calculated. The Ovenbird has been shown to be one of the (desirable) species most negatively impacted by current restoration practices in the CW Region - especially buckthorn and honeysuckle removal - although Ovenbirds are not believed to be a productive breeder in our region's fragmented forests.
