Cerulean Warbler

The Cerulean Warbler is now a very rare breeder in the Chicago Wilderness Region and is listed as Threatened in Illinois and Wisconsin and Endangered in Indiana. Breeding habitat is varied, but includes tracts of woods in both bottomland forests and forests at higher elevations. They usually nest high in the canopy, possibly in trees that are above average in height. This species is rarely encountered on the BCN Survey.
