KILLDEER
The Killdeer is a common statewide breeder. Preferred habitat includes open, dry fields, banks of lakes and marshes, and gravel roadsides. This species appears to be declining in preserved areas sampled by the BCN Survey, but marshlands and roadsides are not adequately sampled and this species may be increasing in those areas.
