LEAST BITTERN
The Least Bittern is an uncommon breeder in the CW Region. Nesting habitat is usually confined to marshes or lakes with dense cattails or other tall vegetation. This species is also very elusive and is often only seen for brief periods of time when one flies up from the cattails and then quickly back down. Data for this species is too sparse to accurately estimate trends. Photo: © Eric Secker |
